If you’re looking for ways to get a smaller waist, you’re not alone. We all have an ideal image for ourselves, but when we look in the mirror, chances are, we don’t size up. One desirable feature is a small waist, especially for women. But how can this feat be achieved? Read below to learn some activities that can help you slim down that waistline.

Step 1: With obesity rates at all-time highs, there are many people who are trying to lose weight. Ask your friends what they do, and even do some research at the library or on the Internet. Ideas are sure to come to you quickly.

Step 2: Don’t always feel a need to focus on your stomach. Work to increase your metabolism rate. This way, you can burn fat even when you are asleep at night.

Step 3: Locate something sturdy you can use to do sit-ups. If you find yourself challenged to find something, a medium yoga ball or arm of a sofa should do the trick.

Step 4: For sit-ups, cross your hands over your chest. Putting your hands in front results in neck strain and less work for the abs, hence less results. Doing sit-ups with your hands behind the neck also is not good because it also results in neck strain and can bring you pain later.

Step 5: When doing a proper sit-up, you will feel a curve in the lower and upper abs. You should do five sets of 50 exercises. If you are a beginner, you can do less and work your way up to that amount.

Step 6: Remember to breathe. This may seem obvious, but it is easy to forget when you are focusing on exercise.

Tips

  • Join a local gym for cardio exercises.
  • If you have an hourglass shape (smaller in the middle), build up your hips with an abductor with heavier weights.
  • Doing elbow-to-knee crunches, also known as the air bike, is another way of slimming down the waistline.
