Growing a church membership can prove to be challenging. In this short article, I’m going to share some great ideas which can help to grow your churches membership. Hopefully the tips presented will prove helpful in increasing the size of your congregation!
Method #1 - Small Groups
Sometimes a church can seem large and impersonal to newcomers, and one of the best ways to combat that problem is through the formation of small groups. Establishing small groups that meet for a weekly Bible study and fellowship is a fantastic way to grow relationships within the church body and boost attendance as a result.
Method #2 - Have a Friendly Greeters Ministry
When I visit a new church, one of the biggest turnoffs personally is walking through the doors without a greeting or smile. Making sure that your church has friendly greeters to welcome people as they enter is vital when it comes to making people feel appreciated and welcome.
Method #3 - Follow Up
One incredibly effective method of getting first time visitors to come back is by showing them that you genuinely care about their well-being. A great way to do this is by following up with new visitors during the week after their first visit.
It’s important not to “stalk” your visitors or creep them out. Just a simple phone call to let them know that you appreciated their attendance is very powerful, and you can also offer to answer any questions that they may have about the church at that time.
