Inbox flooded with spam on a daily basis and want to know how to get rid of junk emails? Not to worry; there are ways to get around this. You can’t always get rid of all unwanted emails, but most of it can be rerouted. Read below to see how you can clean up your mail.
Step 1: Mostly everyone has email nowadays, so it wouldn’t hurt to ask around to see what method other people use to get rid of their junk or spam email.
Step 2: If you are getting spam messages, find out if your Internet service provider has a spam-prevention method that scans mail to determine if it is spam or not. This can get rid of a lot of that unwanted mail.
Step 3: If you are not at this point receiving the junk mail, obtain a second email address from Web sites like Yahoo or Hotmail, which are free services. Use it only for e-commerce, mailing lists and bulletin-board postings and do not give this address out to your personal contacts.
Step 4: Filter your mail. Do this by making a folder that will collect messages that are suspected to be spam. You can name it Spam, Bulk, etc. Spam messages should be redirected to this folder because most of these types of messages are not sent to recipients by name.
Step 5: You can make rules for your email. For instance, if you want to accept mail that only has your name in the “to” field, you can do so. You can also have these messages moved to your inbox if they were inadvertently sent to the spam folder.
