Do you feel that you are destroying the environment with all of the chemical cleaning products that you have been using?  You are in luck, because there is an abundance of cleaners on the market today that are organic and environmentally safe.  In recent years, these organic cleaning products have become much more readily available and can be found at most grocery and hardware stores.

Organic cleaning products are a great choice for your home because you can be rest assured your pets, plants, and family members will always be safe.  Another benefit is that many organic products are very versatile and can clean multiple parts of your house.  Traditional, chemical cleaning product manufacturers have been known to relabel similar products to force consumers into buying a different product for each use. Enough!  I’m going to show you how to keep 3-4 products on hand that will clean your house from floor to ceiling.

White Vinegar

Keep a lot of organic white vinegar on hand.  This stuff works!  Mix it with hot water in a bucket to clean kitchen and bathroom floors, tile, and just about any hard surface that needs cleaning.

  • Tip: You can mix small amounts of this and keep in a spray bottle for easy access

Baking soda & salt

Combine 4-10 parts very hot water with 1 part each of baking soda and salt to clean ovens and grime from stoves.  Mix the ingredients into  rough paste and make sure to use while hot.  You can also use this solution to clean bathtubs, refrigerators, etc.

Lemon juice

Lemon juice works wonders when combined with hot water to remove grease.  You can use fresh squeezed lemons as well as organic pre-squeezed juice to accomplish this.  Did you know that often times the main ingredient in dish-washing soap is lemon?  Use it, it works!

With a few common ingredients, you will be able to make your house squeaky clean…while protecting the environment and your family.  Another good idea is to use cloth towels instead of paper towels.  You can wash these easily and reuse them many times.  Also try to purchase recycled papers and products that you keep around your home.
